'Maine Chance' is a yacht conversion of the famous 1890's American Grand Banks fishing schooner 'Elsie' and is scratch built by Roger (Popeye) Sutherland.

 

All sails are fully adjustable via two drum winches and a Torpedo 400 motor provides auxilliary (to get the model out of trouble) power.

'Maine Chance' also features fully working running rigging whilst standing rigging has been slightly modified to facilitate transportation and setting up at the waterside

 

'Vital statistics:- Length - 40.5" (plus 11" bowsprit).  Beam - 12". Height (keel to Mainmast 'Bob' ) - 52". Weight - 7lbs (plus 5lbs bolt on keel)
